She was born in Moscow on March 1 1980 to Russian economist Tatyana Dimitrievna, and her family from Gregory T., the director of a fur company. After spending six months in a hospital as a child, he was eventually diagnosed with arthritis rheumatoid. He became famous for his skating prowess with Denis Samokhin, a compatriot. In 1993, the duo placed 8th at a Junior World Championship. In 1994, they placed 7th. Her first collaboration was with Maxim Kachanov. Together, the pair placed fifth in the Goodwill Games 1994. The partnership was successful. They twice won at the Finlandia Trophy, and they took part in the Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Together, they achieved even more success however their most memorable moment was when they finished 15th at the 1998 World Championships.
